Unemployed & Redundant Worker Support
This funding initiative provides a 90% rebate for training costs (up to a total budget of $60,000) for individuals who are unemployed or have recently been made redundant. The program supports workers who have lost employment in the ACT construction sector to retrain, update their skills, and re-enter the workforce as quickly as possible.
Eligibility Criteria
Funding is available to Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) to offer subsidised training as a rebate of 90% of course fees. The process and evidence requirements for eligibility of any candidates is the responsibility of the RTO and may be subject to audit by the TFA. To be eligible, candidates must:
- Have ceased employment with an ACT-based construction business within the previous 12 months
- Provide evidence of employment termination (for example, a separation certificate or redundancy notice)
- Undertake training relevant to construction occupations and delivered by an RTO
- Not have previously accessed this rebate
- No other government funding is available to support the specific training.
Payment of rebates are available upon successful completion of training. Both accredited and non-accredited training options are eligible for this additional rebate amount.
