Eligibility
If your role in the ACT building and construction industry is covered in Schedule 1 - Work within the Building and Construction Industry Training Levy Act 1999, you could qualify for a rebate.
Who is eligible for training rebates from the Authority?
Eligibility for Training Rebates
What training is eligible?
Rebates apply only to training delivered in real time, including instructor-led online training. For blended delivery, where training combines self-directed learning with in-class or real-time instruction, only the real-time delivery hours may be used to calculate the rebate. Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is not eligible. This means rebates are not available where competency is assessed solely on existing experience rather than participation in a training course. To be eligible, all training must be delivered by a Registered Training Organisation (RTO).
How are rebates decided?
Rebates are assessed against the priorities in the Authority’s annual Training Plan. The rebate amount is calculated using an algorithm based on the face-to-face training hours and total cost. Applications above staff delegation limits require approval by the Authority’s board. Some rebates, such as Crystalline Silica Exposure Prevention, are paid at a flat rate regardless of delivery hours or cost, refer to: https://trainingfund.com.au//up-skill-cross-skilling for more details.
